International Women’s Day 2018 dinner – an update!

28 March 2018

I recently wrote here about my annual fundraising dinner for International Women’s Day 2018 which was held earlier this month – I’m delighted to now let you know that the dinner has raised over £9,000!

Following the event in Wakefield on Thursday 8 March 2018 we have still had support coming through and the total raised now stands at £9,900. This is through a combination of donations, the dinner and other fundraising efforts. All of this funding will be going to SB Overseas to support their work with Syrian women and children refugees living in Lebanon.

As you may know, this was my final International Women’s Day event before Brexit next year. Over the last 12 years that I have been hosting these occasions, £73,275 has been raised for women and girls in some of the poorest areas in the world. None of this would have been possible without the support of all the women who have attended these events over the years, those who’ve donated or raised money in advance.

A big thank you to all of you – and my final event this year in raising over £9,000 really has been the best one yet!
